The LND tournament was a wonderful experience for the Northwest, Ohio area. Beginners as well as more advanced players enjoyed the tumultuous event. Players from all over Toledo and as far away as Michigan participated in the fast-paced action. Spectators were present to root for their favorite teams, and boy did they root.

The team from Bellevue, Ohio took home the gold in the LND amateur tournament. With an almost perfect point total, they had a stellar performance. The Great Lakes Paintball Team edged the other amateur teams to take a quick lead in the first round and never looked back.

Captain Jim Colvin, Jeff Parker, and Andy Thomas played their hearts out and were rewarded. Their efforts netted them a cash prize of $150 and the highest of honors and accolades. While the cash price is only a nominal part of the experience, it still is quite a reward for a long day's "work."

The GLP team was a group of classy gentlemen who had very amicable personalities. Before the games started they walked up and said, "Hello, how are you?" They introduced themselves. When is the last time that happened in a match? As one spectator put it, "They are the type of people we need in paintball. Honorable, respectable, down to earth, and good people." And that they were. When they lost, they held their heads up high, took their lumps, and moved on. No bad looks, no cringing, and no bad language. Just smiles and spirit.
What? Yep.

In a paintball world aching for leadership and role models, the GLP Team set a high standard. Hats off to them. Congratulations.
